A webinar with Partners in Public Innovation on evaluating AI

September 10, 2026

The Caldera wordmark.

On September 10, Christine Tsang, our CEO, and Ryan Hunter, principal and co-founder of Partners in Public Innovation, hosted a free webinar, “How to Avoid the Pitfalls of Rapid AI Change.” Before co-founding PPI, Ryan directed San Francisco’s first citywide process improvement program, and the hour was built for agency leaders trying to work out where AI can make a real difference in their work.

Agencies are in very different places with AI right now. Some won’t let staff install AI tools, while others have teams building their own. The session covered the plain-English difference between chatbots and agents, with real government examples; a four-part rubric for judging which AI use cases are worth pursuing; and the readiness factors—process, data, governance, and people—that decide whether an agency can support a given use case. It closed with a live demo of what good implementation looks like and an open Q&A.

Thank you to Ryan and the Partners in Public Innovation team, and to everyone who joined.
